01 CRATERS IN LIGHT

PROJECT: Use Current Moonphase & Illumination to Determine Craters in Light

-Using spherical coordinates (polar angle θ and azimuthal angle φ) along with the craters' diameters, I remapped a selection of Lunar craters from the Earth-visible hemisphere of the moon onto a Cartesian plot, accurately reflecting their relative positions and sizes.

-To determine the azimuthal angle φ of the terminator (the line dividing day and night), I calculated a sinusoidal function based on the 2D projection of the current illumination data obtained from timeanddate.com.

-I created a Lambda function with the appropriate library dependencies / Lambda layers to serve as an API, enabling seamless access to the timeanddate.com API through the Python library I was provided.

-Instead of using a database, I leveraged GitHub Gists for storing and accessing small datasets. This approach provided a quick and efficient way to handle and share small amounts of data without the overhead of database management.

-Next Steps: Indicate the visually lit area on the graph as well as provide the coordinates and the next projected viewing date for each crater.

-Scraped Poshmark and reverse engineered the internal API to gather item’s original pricing, sold price, and market timeframe.

-Devised and implemented an algorithm to guide users on whether to buy or wait for a price decrease on available items.

-Optimized database structures, refined query design, implemented email and timely database update automation.

PROJECT: Digital Gallery of Fashion Designer Isabelle Ballu 

-I developed a responsive platform that invites visitors to discover fashion designer Isabelle Ballu’s 25 collections, featuring runway shows, press coverage, TV and magazine features, sketches, lookbooks, interviews, and exclusive behind-the-scenes content.

-User-Centric Design: Prioritized positive user experience with user-friendly navigation and an intuitive layout. I randomized the user’s entrance into the archive so to promote exploration and discovery. This increased the user clicks and time spent on site. The site’s navigation mirrored the fashion designer’s storytelling, as a well connected web of memories. 





-Responsive Design: Ensured optimal viewing across various devices and screen sizes.

-Performance Optimization: Optimized website loading speed for a seamless and efficient user experience.

-Scalability: Designed the website with scalability in mind for potential future growth and additional features.
